Weather in Goa
Goa is located in the topical zone, near the Arabian Sea and therefore has hot and humid climate for major part of the year. The state receives copious rains during the monsoon season and the winters are very mild characterized by bright clear skies.
Summer season in Goa extends from March to May, with May being the hottest month. The day temperatures hover around 35°C and the humidity is very high. This is the lean season as far as tourism is concerned. Beaches are empty, shacks are closed and hotel rates in Goa are at their lowest during this time of the year.
Monsoon Season in Goa is from June to September. The state receives plenty of rainfall during monsoons and the rains bring welcome relief from the stifling heat. The flip side of the monsoon is that the sea is very rough during the season and hence the beaches are mostly empty. But the monsoon has a bright side too, and that is, Goa is at its greenest during this time of the year and offers unique experience to the tourists visiting the state.
Winter season extends from November to February and is the best time to plan a trip to Goa. Winters in Goa are very mild with maximum temperature hovering around 32°C and minimum temperatures in the range of 20°C. The skies are clear, the sun is bright but not hot, and humidity is very low during this season. Goa attracts hordes of tourists during winters and this is the time when Goa truly comes alive.
